Queer Zines, the catalogue, collects the variegated practices of zine makers past and present, from North America and Europe, and lists them alphabetically, starting with Toronto's 88 Chins and ending with the Dean Sameshima zine Young Men at Play. In a riotous assemblage of more than 200 pages, we find comprehensive bibliographies and sinful synopses for more than 120 zines by Alex Gartenfeld, excerpted illustrations and writings by zine makers, reprints of important articles in and about queer zines, a directory of important zine archives, and a list of zine outlets around the world. It also includes a 1980 interview with Boyd McDonald by Vince Aletti, Bimbox's pop-up genitalia (alas, not popping up here), Adam Block's early writings on zines from the Advocate, a "Where are They Now?" section that charts the careers of various queer zine pioneers, and excerpts on Bruce LaBruce and Terence Koh.

Otto is a handsome, sensitive, neo-Goth zombie with an identity crisis. He wanders the streets of the city, never sleeping, until one day he auditions for a zombie film. The director, an eccentric bohemian, begins making a film about Otto, while simultaneously shooting a film about a gay zombie revolt against consumerist society.
As the final orgiastic scene of the film is being shot, Otto struggles to access the human emotion buried beneath his zombie exterior.
Director Bruce LaBruce toys with genre conventions, combining different media, and making use of Medea's humorous film-within-the-film, while creating a new sexy, hyperpoliticized zombie mythology.

Terence Koh
Synopsis: Koh's artists' books and editions are integral to his exploration of the intersection between death and desire. Such Things I Do To Make Myself More Attractive To You amps up the sense of impending cataclysmic consummation. Each of the edition of 200 consists of a black box containing three booklets resting on a bed of black jellybeans, along with a unique ebony-colored, organically-shaped sculpture of black plaster and black glitter, and a black-on-black colophon card with a unique signed "drawing" on the reverse, individually charred around the edges. The first of the three pamphlets presents tiny ghostly black and white photographs, internet images of attractive young men, each centered in a sea of black. Each page of the second pamphlet presents a burn mark, which has in turn been burned with a cigarette, creating a series of negatives spaces surrounded by brown ashy tracing and reptilian bubbles. The last booklet, holding only a single tipped-in image, frames the overwhelming drive towards a loss of individuality though a prism of suicidal impulses.
